We collect recycling from households across Kaikoura District. From Oaro in the south to Kekerengu in the north (PLEASE NOTE DUE TO THE NOVEMBER 14TH EARTHQUAKE, OUR NORTHERN COLLECTION IS SUSPENDED AT THIS STAGE. PLANS ARE BEING DEVELOPED WITH MARLBOROUGH. THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE). We collect most recyclable material on the kerbside, but there are some exceptions. For details have a look at the information below. Please note though, that we don't offer a rubbish collection either in Kaikoura township or the rural areas of the district. If you have waste to dispose of you'll need to bring it to the Resource Recovery Centre yourself, or arrange a rubbish collection with a waste contractor

We collect recycling in Kaikoura and South Bay on Thursdays. You can put your recycling in a plastic crate. Large for all recycling (cardboard and newspaper underneath please) and small for glass only. Leave your recycling on the kerbside by 8:30 to ensure collection.
Recycling in the rural part of Kaikoura district (Oaro to Kekerengu) takes place on Wednesday's. Please put your recycling in tied plastic bags in the designated spot, by 8:30 for the northern district and 12:30 for the southern district to ensure collection. Don't know where your spot is, see the 'Rural Recycling' info sheet below or Call us.
All recycling should be clean, with your milk bottles and cans crushed and paper inside a plastic bag so it doesn't blow away. If collection day falls on a public holiday collection will take place the following day.
